Vet quoted $1,800 for an emergency dental cleaning. Do I get a second opinion or pay up?

My dog has a cracked tooth that the vet says needs an extraction & deep clean to prevent an infection. The estimate is $1,800, which is practically my entire savings right now. They can do it next Tuesday, but I am wondering if I should delay to shop around for a cheaper clinic.
